Location

Barton Hall is in Devon, the southwest region of the United Kingdom. At the heart of the English Riviera with views to Torquay, blue beaches and Dartmoor close by, it’s easy to see why this adventure centre is so popular with students.

Accommodation & Food

The centre offers an outdoor space of 19 acres of park including a covered area, a heated outdoor swimming pool and a lake. It has an exceptional choice of activities. Young people are housed in rooms with 4 to 6 beds. All rooms have a private shower and toilet. Continental or English breakfast and two hot meals per day are served in the self-service restaurant.

27 hours of English lessons

Students are given an English language test on arrival and placed in English classes according to their language level. Average number of students per class is 15. Our teachers are all fully qualified. Many of our teachers have worked regularly on our past programmes. They work with great enthusiasm and energy to make their classes vibrant and enjoyable. Emphasis on spoken English and listening skills, including work on essential grammar and vocabulary. We aim to make students effective and confident in their everyday communication. All course materials are supplied.

Ski activity consist off: 5 ski sessions during the stay (beginner level – Minimum number: 8), introduction to the ski slope, equipment adjustment, how to stand, starting & stopping and descents on the slope – 1 hour of ski practice on the slope per session.

Every evening our teams offer an entertainment programme made up of games, quizzes, movie night, talent show, treasure hunt, campfire, disco etc.

2 full-day excursions + 2 half-day excursion

Examples of Excursions: Exeter – Plymouth – Dartmouth – Torquay – Dartmoor National Park – etc.

Students are supervised by our highly experienced team of English teachers and youth leaders working under

the direction of our Centre Director.
